Dr. Brian J Griffith

Dr. Brian J Griffith is an Assistant Professor of Modern European History at California State University, Fresno (US) specializing in the political and cultural history of Italian Fascism. His current research focuses on the history of industrial-scale winemaking and national identity in Fascist Italy, transnational volunteerism during the Second Italo-Ethiopian War and the Spanish Civil War, and neo-fascism in Italy between the 1950s and the 2010s. Dr. Griffith is currently completing his first research monograph, titled Cultivating Fascism: Wine, Politics, and Identity in Mussolini’s Italy.

Dr. Amy King

Dr. Amy King is Senior Lecturer at the University of Bristol (UK) specializing in the history and memory of Italian Fascism and neo-fascism, commemoration and national identity, and transnational memory cultures. Her research has appeared in scholarly journals including Modern Italy and Memory Studies. Her current research examines the role of secular martyrs in the construction of Italian identity. Dr. King's first research monograph, titled Politics of Sacrifice: Remembering Italy's 1973 Rogo di Primavalle, was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2024. She is currently writing her second monograph on the memory of Giacomo Matteotti in Italy and abroad.
